To reward Pilavios for the unerring job that he has been doing
for the betterment and promotion of Greek football and for his
spotless contribution in cleaning the Greek sport from match
fixing, illegal betting and money laundering, after so many people
responsible were brought to justice and so many rules and
regulations have been strictly enforced and numerous reforms
instituted, and no mercy has been shown to any of the culprits,
FIFA has appointed him member of a prestigious committee
overseeing the relation of the body with other football entities.
Bravo to FIFA, who, as expected under its current leadership,
makes all those appointments purely based on merit and past
record of successes.


Ο Πιλάβιος λέει ότι ο Ψωμιάδης είναι ο πιο έντιμος άνθρωπος που
έχει συναντήσει ποτέ του. Δεν έστησε ποτέ παιχνίδι και δεν τα έπιασε
από πουθενά. Έχει κανείς ποτέ εξετάσει σοβαρά το "πόθεν έσχες"
του Πιλάβιου; Δε φτάνει που έχει αυτός και οι κολλητοί του
καταντήσει το ποδόσφαιρο στην Ελλάδα ελεεινό και παγκοσμίως
περίγελο, τώρα άρχισε να λέει και ασυναρτησίες...

Και στα πολιτικά και στα οικονομικά και τώρα και στ' αθλητικά μας
κοροιδεύουν όλοι πατόκορφα... Ξεκινήσαμε με την UEFA και τη FIFA
και τώρα μας δουλεύουν και γελάνε μαζί μας και οι Σαουδάραβες...
Στείλαν τον παντελώς άγνωστο και, αν κρίνουμε και από το πρόσφατο
παρελθόν, μάλλον και παντελώς άσχετο "πρίγκηπα σουλτάνο κλπ. κλπ,"
bin A bin B ibn C κλπ. κλπ. Αλ Σαούντ (με πιθανώς πάλι άδειες τζέπες;
σε λίγο μάλλον θα ψάχνουμε όλοι τα λεφτά ως συνήθως) ν' αγοράσει
από τους ανίκανους και αφελείς, αλλά στοιχηματίες και κουτοπόνηρους
(βλέπε Ψωμιάδη), Έλληνες τον Παναθηναϊκό...


Για να μην γελοιοποιηθεί περαιτέρω το Ελληνικό Πρωτάθλημα, καλό
θα ήταν να σταματήσουν αμέσως την σεζόν 2011-2012, να την αναβάλλουν
επ' αορίστω μεχρις ότου οι εισαγγελείς και η δικαιοσύνη αποφανθούν
τελεσιδίκως επί των εκκρεμών υποθέσεων στημένων και άλλων αγώνων,
ακατάλληλων προς συμμετοχή προσώπων και ομάδων και άλλων λοιπών
παραγόντων, και, επί τέλους, δεν πειράζει αν ανακυρήξουν εκ των προτέρων
φέτος πρωταθλητή χωρίς αγώνες είτε τον Ολυμπιακό είτε τον Παναθηναικό.
Θα είναι έτσι εξάλλου η πιο τίμια χρινιά και το πιο τίμιο πρωτάθλημα της
τελευταίας δεκαετίας, αντί να κοροιδεύουν και να αυτοκοροιδεύονται ότι
κλωτσάνε το μπαλλόνι, ενώ όλα είναι κανονισμένα στις πίσω αίθουσες
από τους ξεδιάντροπους στοιχηματίες...

Greece is the new World Champion in the women's water polo!
Congratulations to the girls! With an 8-9 win in the final against
the hosts China in Shanghai, it was A GOLD well-deserved.


Αδυνατώ πραγματικά να καταλάβω πώς λειτουργούν οι Ελληνικές
ΠΑΕ και εάν έχουν καμιά συναίσθηση των υποχρεώσεων τους όταν
υπογράφουν συμφωνητικά. Εάν η ΠΑΕ Λάρισα είχε υποσχεθεί στον
Ουζουνίδη 30.000 Ευρώ για συμμετοχή στο Europa League ανεξαρτήτως
εμφάνισης και αυτό επετεύχθη, δεν μπορώ να καταλάβω με ποιό
δικαίωμα η ΠΑΕ Λάρισα ειρωνεύεται τον Ουζουνίδη επειδή απλά
δεν απαίτησε τα χρεωστούμενα αμέσως, αλλά περίμενε μήπως οι
υπεύθυνοι της ανεύθυνης ΠΑΕ φιλοτιμηθούν από μόνοι τους...
Η ΠΑΕ Λάρισα οφείλει να γνωρίζει ότι υπάρχει τρόπος για επακριβή
προσδιορισμό υποχρεώσεων χωρίς ειρωνίες και παρεξηγήσεις. Αυτός
είναι η ενδεδειγμένη σωστή χρήση της Ελληνικής γλώσσας. Κάλλιστα,
όταν προσέφεραν συμβόλαιο στον Ουζουνίδη, θα μπορούσαν να του
προσφέρουν 30.000 για συμμετοχή και καλή εμφάνιση στο Europa
League και μόνο τα μισά για συμμετοχή, αλλά μη ικανοποιητική
εμφάνιση. Εάν αυτή δεν ήταν η ακριβής διατύπωση του συμβολαίου,
τότε η ΠΑΕ δεν έχει κανένα δικαίωμα να αμφισβητεί και να χλευάζει,
και η χρήση της ειρωνείας ούτε αλλάζει της υποχρεώσεις της, αλλά
ούτε τιμά αυτούς που έστειλαν αυτήν την επιστολή στον τύπο...

Ασχέτως με το εάν συμφωνώ ή διαφωνώ με το περιεχόμενο της
δήλωσης του Συλλόγου Παλαιμάχων Αθλητών του Παναθηναικού,
έχω μείνει έκπληκτος με το πόσο προσεκτικά έχουν συντάξει την
ανακοίνωση και με το σεβασμό και την αγάπη, καθώς και την
αναγνώρηση, που επιδυκνείει στον Ερασιτέχνη, την ομάδα και τους
χορηγούς της, που πραγματικά έχουν εργαστεί σκληρά στα πλαίσια
των δυνατοτήτων τους για την καταξίωση του Παναθηναικού σε
διεθνές επίπεδο. Ο χαρακτήρας της ανακοίνωσης είναι δυστυχώς
σπάνιος για τα Ελληνικά δεδομένα και το ήθος και ύφος του άξιο
επαίνου. Μπράβο στο Σύλλογο! Μακάρι να εξέφραζαν πολλοί
εντός του Ελληνικού αθλητισμού τις απόψεις τους με την ίδια
προσοχή και το ίδιο αίσθημα ευθύνης όπως πράξατε κι εσείς...

Sepp Blatter HAS TO GO. Under his unfortunate leadership, the world
football body has been stinking like a big city gutter. Axing a couple of
his underlinks, thereby leading himself to reelection with a Mubarak-style
unopposed easiness, is not going to make things better for the organization.
If Blatter had any respect for the sport and had not just been watching out
for his own self-interests, he would have realized that nothing positive has
come or is going to come out of his tenure and would have stepped down
effective immediately...
 

It is a pity that someone like Thanasis Giannakopoulos, who has invested
and contributed so much in the consistent excellence of Greek basketball,
has such a miserable mentality, proving himself to be an "Ellinaras", with
all the negative connotations that the word has assumed in the Greek sport
culture and not only.


I do hope that Blatter does not get reelected for another term at the helm of
FIFA. It is too long to wait for another 4 years for a failed president to step
down. Under his leadership, both transparency in handling organizational
awards and the health and well-being of international competition have
suffered severely. It is high time that someone younger, whose inexperience
can be balanced by a true idealism and passion for a clean and transparent
competition at all levels (administrative and athletic), takes over from the
dinosaurs...


How is football in Greece supposed to make any progress and how is violence
supposed to be eradicated when it is obvious to everyone but the most naive
that the two biggest teams, Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, are working behind
the scenes to influence referees and win every game they can, even by utterly
unethical means. Today (January 23rd) both teams were offered nonexistent
penalty kicks against weaker non-influential opponents to secure wins. This
is shameful and makes the Greek Super League championship obsolete. They
may as well proclaim the champion by other means before the season starts...


The General Secretary of Athletic Affairs of the Greek Government has captured
the feelings and sentiments of the entire Greek athletic community and all Greek
fans with his short and focused comments on the recent events seeing so many
of the members of both the Greek football and the Greek basketball national teams
publicly declaring that they do not want to participate anymore in the respective
efforts of the teams. One hopes that they will not set unfortunate precedents and
that, in the future, all Greek athletes will be selflessly available if and when they are
called to serve the national team in their respective sport.


Once more, in Greek football the incredibility attained color code red (κοινώς, η
αφερεγγυότητα έπιασε κόκκινο). Don't these spoiled multimillionaires know how
to use the phone and the conference rooms? Can't they communicate like they do
in all other business transactions? Why do football matters make them so abrasive,
unreliable and, quite frankly, extremely incompetent and childish? I cannot grasp
what exactly is their problem when they deal with footballing issues and why they
cannot realize that professional club football is business and you do not make
offers, you do not buy and you do not sell on TV and radio...


Otto just announced that he is not staying with the national side. Otto, do not
leave; not just yet; there is work to be done in the next 4-5 years to maintain the
same morale and skill you have built and to keep the same competitive spirit that
you have instilled in this team, that is really walking in its first few steps of maturity.
Please, extend your contract terminally for just after the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
But if you insist and if Beate does not let you rethink about it,
THANK YOU for everything; THANK YOU for history.
